6.12.07

We have another last minute show to announce as we're heading to downtown Stockbridge, MI on Saturday evening (June 16th). The show will be from 6-10pm. Whitey Morgan plays 6-8pm and we play 8-10pm.
A huge thanks goes out to all our friends that came to our shows last weekend. The Macs show was a ton of fun and the Crawfish Boil... well, lets just say "what happens in Marshall, stays in Marshal". No really, it was a lot of fun and it was so good to see so many folks out supporting music. It almost brings a tear to our collective eye. We'll try to get photos up as soon as possible.
Last but not least, check out some new press about DRL. One is from the Battle Creek Enquirer about last week's show (did Paul really say "Holy Cow") and the other is from a new website / mag called the Spirit of the Outlaws (a great review of GLHA).

6.7.07
We're playing tomorrow night at Mac's Bar in Lansing. There was a cancellation, so our good buddies in the Harvestmen asked us to come out and play. Also performing will be the Salt Miners, a great bluegrass band from Detroit. We'll be playing a more acoustic... fun set with some cool covers. HOWEVER, don't forget that we're in Marshall the next night bringing the rock'n'roll to the Crawfish Boil. It's the biggest party of the year down that way and always a great time. Check out our SHOWS page for more info... and even more new shows coming your way.

5.18.07
We've updated our shows page... and there are a TON of them coming up in June and July. Please get out and say HI to us. Also, we've added more photos from our shows at the Intersection and Jukes. Last thing, we've started working on our next record. If all goes as planned, we're looking at a late summer or fall release. You're gonna love it...

5.6.07
As always, thanks to everyone that has been coming out to shows. Also, thanks to those that bought T-SHIRTS!! This month, we only have one show... it's Friday, May 11th at the Kreaftbrau in Kalamazoo. We hope to see everyone there. Last thing, we put some new photos up from the Intersection show.

4.15.07
Well, we made it to Ohio and back relatively unscathed. We made a lot of new friends and we found a new 'home away from home' in Maumee (we love the Idiot... and multiple shots... and everyone there... and we're counting the days until we come back). In other news, we put up a new live acoustic track for those that sign up for our mailing list. It's from last month when Eric and Paul played at Jammin' Round with Jamie Sue. Just enter your email address above and hit 'submit'. For those that have already signed up, check your email... as we sent out a message earlier today.

4.12.07
We added more photos from our shows at Macs, the Blind Pig, and Jukes. Check em out.

4.10.07
We're taking off to invade Ohio this Thursday. Wish us luck. Also, please note that we have a run of amazing MI shows when we get back including Jackson, Lansing, and GR (finally, back at the Intersection). We've got some new photos going up this week... and hopefully, a live recording of some acoustic songs Eric and Paul played a while back. As always, we encourage EVERYONE to sign up for our mailing list... as that is the easiest way for us to let you know about upcoming shows and releases.

3.10.07

First thing, thank you to everyone that has been coming out to our recent shows. We've had some GREAT times and all our friends and fans are the ones that are responsible for that. We're still working on new music as we get Luke and Jeff up to speed with the old DRL catalog. We're really excited to record again and we're hoping to head into the studio in the upcoming months. Until then, you can check out some of the new songs at our live shows... which we have a LOT of.

2.20.07
More live photos are up... this time from our Rubbles show. Thanks to those that stuck around for one of our more non-sober performances. Also, more shows have been added to the calendar. Last, pre-sale tickets for this Friday's show at Mac's (with the Hard Lessons and Frontier Ruckus) are available for only $5 at Mac's Bar, CD Warehouse (East Lansing), and Flat Black and Circular (East Lansing). If you can't make here to get them, you can order them online here (only $7). The door charges will be $7 (21+) and $10 (18-20) the night of the show... so it's probably a good idea to secure a ticket beforehand. We can't wait to see you... we have a couple of new songs that we want you to hear.

2.11.07
Photos are up from the Elbow Room show. Thanks to everyone that came out to welcome Jeff and Luke to the band... our first two shows with them were great and we're looking forward to tearing down Rubbles this weekend.

1.29.07
February is nearly here. We're ready to rock. Do what you have to do... but get out and see a show or two. Also, sign up for our mailing list... it's worth it and we'll appreciate it greatly.

1.10.07

More shows have been added. More shows are in the works. We took new band phots with Luke and Jeff... they can be found on the photos page. Others (funny ones) are available to mailing list members.

1.2.07

So... a lot has changed since the last time we've posted here. We've been busy with the holidays and playing acoustic shows, and we thank everyone that made it out over the last couple of months. However, the biggest news is that we have a new drummer and bass player... and we're gonna get back to making sweaty rock'n'roll again. The boys will be making their DRL debut February 10th at the Elbow Room with Whitey Morgan so please come out and welcome Luke Elder on the drums and Jeff Rester on the bass guitar. They're great musicians, great guys, and will rock your socks off. We're working on getting some new photos taken so you can get a good look at the new faces.
Last thing, we send our deepest thanks and well wishes to original Dirt Road Logic drummer Jonathan Britton and also, bassist/keyboardist Mark King. JB is now drumming for the Aimcriers, a rocking Lansing band that you'll see on stage very soon. Kinger can still be found on stage with the Surrogate Band, the nation's premier Pink Floyd tribute band.

10.19.06

Happy New Year... well... in a couple of days! We just booked a show at the Painted Lady in Hamtramck on January 7th. We're playing with our good friends Speakerphone and the Fluoride Program. Also, we have a lot of new shows on the calendar, so check them out and make plans now... we'd love to see you!!

11.30.05

Wow, what a busy couple of weeks it's been... We've been taking care of grand champeening, child rearing, and scholastic pursuits among other things and we're ready to head into 2006 in high gear. Our bass player search has turned up a friend (and great bass player) named Ed Reyes. Ed's been filling in for us recently and you'll likely see him on stage with us for the next few shows. We're currently negotiating a buy-out of his contracts with 100 Watt Head and 5050 to make him a full time member of DRL. In other news, we have some great shows coming up soon. This week we're at Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak. Next week we'll be playing an acoustic set at the Dark Horse in Marshall... and then, we'll be celebrating the end of 2005 with a 12/16 show at the Temple Club with our friends Great Lakes Myth Society, the Battle Scars, and the Deadstring Brothers (Bloodshot Records). We'd also like to send our thanks to the members of Branded. Our show with them and Bobby Pinson was a great success and we had a ton of fun hanging out with those guys (and gals). Lastly, we're targeting a March/April release for our debut album, tentatively titled, Great Lake Heart-ache. Until then, you'll just have to come to a live show to get your DRL fix... With love, DRL

11.7.05

After months of fighting the php, asp, and other such demons that terrorize Paul throughout the night-time, he was able to create an email list link...so, look down!! No, not there... just below this text. You know you want to do it! Sign up for all the latest DRL news. Also, we need your support at the next two shows!! We're at the Elbow Room this Saturday and at the Intersection in GR next week Friday with Bobby Pinson!! Go to 'Tour' or scroll down a little further to get tickets.

11.5.05

Unfortunately, our show scheduled tonight at Bell's is cancelled due to the illiness of an immediate member of the DRL family.

10.25.05

BIG NEWS! We've just confirmed a show at the Intersection on Friday, Novermber 18th... opening for RCA records' Bobby Pinson! Mr. Pinson is all over country radio and CMT right now, but don't let that fool you... he's a rocker and he writes his own material. Tickets for this show are $11.93 and are available through Ticketmaster. This is an early show... the doors open at 7pm and we're on at 7:30pm. If you remember our last performance at this bar, you know that this is a show that you shouldn't miss!! We'll be followed by Branded (from GR), then Bobby Pinson.

10.17.05
We've played some great shows since our last update... the Neil Young tribute was an absolute success, REA's CD release at the Kraftbrau was a great time, and Jukes Bar in GR was amazing (thanks Bruce!!). Recording is going well. We had another session this weekend and we're working hard to get this thing done. Because of some scheduling issues, we're targeting early next year (Februaryish) for a completion date. As always, check out the TOUR section... if you live in MI, we're very likely to be playing near you soon!! Thanks for all of your support, paul and DRL

10.5.05

The Neil Young Tribute is this Friday, October 7th at Mac's Bar!! 20 bands! All the money goes to charity!

9.28.05

This Friday's show (Sep 30) with the Rural Electrification Act at the Groundsphere in Allegan is cancelled!! Eric is feeling horrible right now (he seems to have caught the junk that everyone else has right now) and cannot sing (however, we questioned whether he could even before this). Sorry to those that were planning on attending. We'll make it back over there in the future.

9.21.05

Our first recording session at Big Sky was an amazing success... we were able to record the base tracks for 10 songs. Not too bad for a couple days work. Thanks fo Jeff M, Jim Roll, Sprinkles, and Greg M for lending their unique brand of production/encouragement thus far...
On another note, please come out to the Punks vs. Pokes this Friday night. It's 8 of the best bands in this town duking it out... well, maybe not duking it out, but laying down some sweet twang/rock/punk music. Also, keep an eye on our Tour page... we've got a ton of cool shows coming up all over this beautiful state.

8.31.05

Thanks to everyone who's been coming out and supporting us. We appreciate you greatly!! FYI- We're taking a couple of weeks off of playing shows to get ready for our upcoming recording sessions. Get ready for a full length DRL album late this year or early next. We'll see you at the Chicken Wing Thing at the Dark Horse!!

8.25.05

Last minute show addition!!! We'll be playing at the Cereal City Motorcycle Rally this Saturday (8/27) from 6-7pm. Click here for more information.

Thanks to all those folks that have been coming out to our shows. We've got some more great ones coming up in the next month... so check the Tour section for details. We've added some live music tracks from our Temple Club show in the Media section. Thanks to Ed for recording us. Also, Paul is organizing a Neil Young Tribute show at Mac's Bar on October 7th. Please email him if you'd like to play at this event or if you'd be willing to help organize the event.

7.19.05

It's out there... past the city lights, after the last darkened gas station sign. You have to leave the pavement behind, but you'll find it. You can follow the trail of cheap beer cans thrown from car windows. The faint music that seems to be coming from the tail lights that seem so far away. Do you remember feeling invincible? Do you remember believing you could fly? Do you remember Rock'n'Roll? If you've been missing it, we have a little story to tell you...
As for this website... it is very much under construction, but don't let that deter you from checking back often.
